Padharo, on East Street in Southampton, runs a Festival Menu for Christmas: £29.95 per person, one item from each section. Book ahead and each guest gets a free drink. Padharo is open on Christmas Day itself, Friday 25 December, from 5pm to 10:30pm. It is 100% vegetarian, so a mixed office table eats well with no separate dietary order needed.
Padharo was named Indian Restaurant of the Year, South of England, at the Nation's Curry Awards 2025. Large group deals are available by email, and the whole restaurant can be booked for exclusive private hire.

Nibbles
Thin rice flour based snack. Bursting with flavours, these savoury delights offer satisfying crunch with drinks, served with mango chutney, and coriander and mint.
Street Food
Spiced spinach and potato patties, soft inside, pan-fried to a golden crisp.
Crispy cauliflower in our signature house batter, stir-fried and coated in spicy chilli sauce.
Thinly sliced onions, gently spiced and deep-fried until golden and crispy.
Crunchy puri shells stuffed with chickpeas, potato, onion and tomato, then topped with sweet yoghurt, tamarind and coriander-mint chutney.

Our Lababdar is a rich and flavourful curry of cashews, tomato and warming spices, slow-simmered into a smooth creamy gravy.

Yellow lentils tempered the old-fashioned way, in a pan of hot ghee with garlic, cumin and a hit of fresh chilli.
Black lentils slow-cooked overnight with butter, cream and tomato until they melt into something silky and properly smoky. All that cooking, worth the wait.

Desserts
Beautiful and delicious. Delicate, crispy nests of shredded pastry are baked to a golden brown, filled with a rich pistachio creamy centre and an added twist of gulab jamun on the top.

Yes. Padharo opens on Christmas Day itself, Friday 25 December 2026, in the evening from 5pm to 10:30pm. Every other day in December keeps the usual hours, Tuesday to Thursday 5pm to 10:30pm and Friday to Sunday 12pm to 10:30pm, and Mondays stay closed as they do every week.

Is the Christmas menu vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free?
The whole Festival Menu is vegetarian, in keeping with the rest of Padharo, which is 100% vegetarian. Most dishes are vegan or have a vegan option, and many are gluten-free or can be made gluten-free, all clearly marked on the menu. That means a mixed office table can order without anyone needing a separate dish.
Do we need to book in advance?
Booking ahead is strongly recommended. December is Padharo's busiest month and tables go early, especially for Christmas Day itself and for weekend evenings. Booking in advance is also how you secure the free drink that comes with the Festival Menu, and lets the team prepare for larger groups.
