What is the best Indian restaurant in Southampton?

We are 100% vegetarian with extensive vegan and gluten-free options, located at 100-102 East Street in the city centre. Book your table ahead, especially at weekends.
Are all dishes at Padharo vegetarian?
Yes — every dish on our menu is 100% vegetarian. We are proud to be entirely meat-free, with a large selection of clearly labelled vegan options too.
Do you have vegan options?
Absolutely. The majority of our menu is vegan, and every vegan dish is clearly labelled. From starters to mains and desserts, there's plenty of plant-based choice.
Do you cater for gluten-free diets?
Yes, many of our dishes are gluten-free and labelled accordingly on the menu. Please inform your server of any allergies or dietary requirements when you arrive.
Is Padharo a good Southampton restaurant for allergies and specific diets?
Yes — catering for allergies and specific diets is something Padharo does exceptionally well, and it is one of the things that sets us apart in Southampton. The entire menu is 100% vegetarian, with a large range of vegan, gluten-free, and onion- and garlic-free (Jain-friendly) dishes. Our menu page has built-in dietary filters so you can narrow the whole menu down to exactly what suits you in seconds: vegan, gluten-free, and onion- and garlic-free, plus allergen filters for dairy, nuts, soya, sesame, mustard and sulphites. We also keep a full allergen guide covering all 14 regulated UK allergens (including celery), and our team is always happy to talk any requirement through when you arrive. Do you take reservations?

Where are you located, and is there parking nearby?
We are at 100-102 East Street, Southampton, SO14 3HH — in the heart of the city centre. The closest car park is Eastgate Street Multi-Storey Car Park, just off East Street, which is open 24 hours.
Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?
Yes — Padharo is easily wheelchair accessible. If you have specific requirements or would like to discuss arrangements in advance, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
Is Padharo a good place to eat before or after a cruise, or a day at Paultons Park?
Definitely. We are in the heart of the city centre, on the right side of Southampton for the cruise terminals, which makes us an easy stop before you board or after you disembark. We are also around a 20-minute drive from Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World, so we are a great spot for a proper sit-down meal before or after a family day out. Book ahead so we can have a table ready to fit around your plans.
Can I store my luggage or bags while I dine?
Yes — there is space to store suitcases, bags and hand luggage to one side while you eat. It is one of the reasons we are popular with cruise passengers and anyone travelling through Southampton: you can relax over a meal without juggling your bags. Just mention it to the team when you arrive and we will get you settled.
What are your opening hours?
We are open Tuesday to Thursday from 5pm to 10:30pm, and Friday to Sunday from 12pm to 10:30pm. We are closed on Mondays. Book your table here.
Can the pace of service be adjusted?
Yes — just let your server know at the start of your visit. If you are short on time, we can prompt things along; if you are here to relax and socialise, we are equally happy to let the evening unfold at a leisurely pace.
Do you offer takeaway or delivery?
Yes — you can order for delivery via Deliveroo or Uber Eats, or choose Click and Collect through our Toast Tab service.
Can you accommodate large groups?

Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes — we offer e-gift vouchers, ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions. You can purchase them online via our Vouchers page.
Do you have a children's menu?
Yes — we offer a dedicated Kids Menu with smaller portions of some of our most popular dishes. Please ask your server for details, or download it from our Menus page.
Do you serve alcohol, and can we bring our own?
Yes — Padharo is fully licensed with an extensive drinks menu including wines, premium spirits, cocktails, and authentic Indian beers and spirits. You can browse everything on our Drinks Menu. Bringing your own drinks is not something we generally offer, as we have a well-stocked bar. If you have a specific dietary requirement or special circumstance, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can dishes be modified — for spice, allergens, or dietary preferences?
Yes, in most cases. Many of our dishes are prepared fresh to order, so we can often accommodate requests such as adjusting the spice level or removing ingredients like onion or garlic. A small number of dishes are partially pre-prepared and may be harder to change, but the majority of mains and curries can be adapted. Please let your server know your requirements at the start of your visit — Padharo takes allergens seriously and we will always do our best to help.
Do you have outdoor seating?
Not currently, though it is something we may introduce as we head into summer. Inside, the restaurant has two distinct areas — one with a lighter, open feel, and one with a warmer, more intimate atmosphere that works beautifully for a romantic dinner. You are welcome to request either when you book.
